I love to travel all over the globe shopping for textiles to add to my wearable art. I have taught quilting to school children in Nepal, seminole patchwork to seamstresses in Thailand, and jackets and embellishment to quilters in Turkey where I also served as a judge at 2 of their International Quilt Shows. I have created garments for 5 Fairfield and Bernina Fashion Shows and teach classes on embellishment and wearable art. Lately I have been leaning more toward making art quilts.

Trip to Croghan, N.Y.

We made a side trip to Croghan, N.Y. As usual in Northern N.Y. towns,, many downtown buildings are no longer in use. Most of the buildings date from 1912, the year when most of the town burned down.

There is an interesting railroad museum for the Lowville and Beaver River Railroad.

The line has been out of service for at least 40 years.

For workers or visitors?

The real purpose of the trip was not all this culture but ice cream of course. Wishy's reputation has spread far and wide and the shop was busy both times we visited.
