Priscilla Kibbee

I love to travel all over the globe shopping for textiles to add to my wearable art. I have taught quilting to school children in Nepal, seminole patchwork to seamstresses in Thailand, and jackets and embellishment to quilters in Turkey where I also served as a judge at 2 of their International Quilt Shows. I have created garments for 5 Fairfield and Bernina Fashion Shows and teach classes on embellishment and wearable art. Lately I have been leaning more toward making art quilts.

Up in the Mountains

After the busy market it was time to explore the mountain area outside of Otavalo.  Out first stop was the region around Laguna de Cuicocha
The lake is really a sunken top of a volcano.
Its a steep climb to the rim where there is a walk around the lake which takes several hours.
The Park Rangers station on the rim.

After the Lake we visited Hacienda Pinsaqui, a Hacienda built in 1790 which has played host to Simon Bolivar in the past.

Its now a deluxe hotel.

With its own resident llamas and horses

Wonderful views.

And its own Chapel
